Movin'

I secretly don't want anyone in the world to read my blog. Jk, I really do. However, I am moving again. I like the look and feel of xanga, and the fact that many of my friends have xangas. Sooo.... you'll be able to find me at http://www.xanga.com/goosedaddy
Bye blogspot!

Procrastinating

Erik is an Old Norse word meaning "complete ruler".
What do you think about that? ;-)

Wednesday

was awesome. The morning sucked - I'd stayed up all night working on a presentation that we had to present at 10:10am, and we weren't ready to go until 10:30 (had to let other groups go on ahead of us), and then our presentation wasn't all that spectacular because we didn't have time for a practice run.

The rest of the day was the awesome part.

Right after class, I went straight to the beach, didn't even stop home to change out of the suit and tie. At first I'd thought "let me take a little drive on Junipero Serra", then I was like "actually, as I'm here, lemme take a little ride on 280" (the most beautiful highway in the country, bar none), which turned into "there's 84, lemme enjoy some "mountain" twists and turns" which turned into "screw it, I'm going to the beach". 84 is so fun to drive - it's all twisty and turny, it makes it a joy to have a stickshift, both uphill and down, and it's just so damn beautiful too - driving through thick, dark green forests with occasional shafts of sunlight piercing through. If you haven't yet driven 84 to the beach, you must. Should have brought a camera.

It was so perfect when I turned onto highway 1 - no fog, perfectly clear. Big majestic waves (compared to dinky east-coast waves) crashing into the sea-cliffs below, sunlight dancing off the waves, top down, "Mr Brightside" blasting, road disappearing behind me 80 miles every hour. After driving up and down for about 30 miles, I bought a loaf of bread still hot out the oven, and some bree, went out to the beach, dragged a log out to the edge of the water, and ate up looking out over the sea. Should have brought a camera.

2-year gap

Everyone around me is getting to a point where they're sort of starting or getting ready to start their post-college lives. I kind of feel like my real post-college life... at least my social life... doesn't really start for another 3 years... and it's kinda weird... because after this year, if I get into the peace corps, I'll sort of disappear for 2 years... and then I'll be back. Back where? here? the Bay Area? who'll be here? what'll be the same, what will have changed? It's kinda strange to think about this 2 year gap in my life.

:-(

I have two or three every-so-tiny tears just at the very edges of my ragtop, and evidently, those are consequential. It rained two nights ago, and just now my seats appear to be getting dry. Ai-ya.

Silver Lining

If for whatever reason, God forbid, I don't make it into the Peace Corps, here's my silver lining, the way I'll be able to spend my summer.

Things I Miss About Dorm Life, #209

Random visits and conversations in the wee hours of the morning. Awesome, and much more likely in a dorm.

This Sucks

I hate being sick. There's nothing remotely fun about it.
